Upper Walthamstow is a compact neighbourhood in Waltham Forest that punches well above its size for dining quality, with a focused selection built around excellent pizza and a couple of pubs doing serious food. A Palestinian kitchen adds genuine character to a short but well-edited list, and though prices lean towards the higher end, the cooking justifies it. The area rewards those willing to venture beyond Walthamstow Central for something a little more considered.
