Pointe-Saint-Charles is a working-class neighborhood south of the Lachine Canal where the dining leans toward brewpubs and comfortable Canadian cooking at easy prices. The area is small and unpretentious, which means the places that have stuck around tend to be good at what they do. The south end of Wellington Street is the natural starting point for an evening here.
