This is a cozy, low-lit neighborhood bistro with a particularly appealing bar area, outdoor seating, and a calmer dining room suited to conversation. The food is often genuinely well cooked, especially the salmon, short rib, soups, and desserts, but portion sizes and a few brunch or seafood dishes can disappoint. Try: Salmon.
This is a comfortable, family-oriented Olive Garden with easy parking, calm seating, and staff who often shine during celebrations and large gatherings. Familiar staples, breadsticks, soups, and salads can be satisfying, but long waits, wrong orders, and occasional stale or poorly executed food keep it from being reliably excellent. Try: Chicken Alfredo.
This is a spacious, retro-style family diner with an expansive menu and a friendly, neighborhood feel. Breakfast, comfort food, desserts, and portions generally land well, but a few detailed reports point to uneven cooking and occasional serious service or cleanliness lapses. Try: Belgian waffle.
La Tolteca offers a lively, family-friendly Mexican dining room with attractive decor, ample parking, and a broad menu. The best dishes are flavorful and generously portioned, but recent service complaints and occasional misses in temperature, seasoning, and order accuracy make consistency the main caveat. Try: verde enchiladas.
This retro Wilmington coffee shop has a lively, nostalgic diner feel and a menu packed with classic breakfast comfort food. Eggs Benedict, omelets, scrapple, and potatoes are often excellent, though consistency slips on some dishes and takeout orders. Try: eggs Benedict.
This spacious Wilmington dining room serves a broad, authentic-feeling mix of South and North Indian food, with biryanis, thalis, and dosas drawing the most enthusiasm. Portions are generous and the atmosphere is warm, but long waits, missed orders, and uneven execution appear often enough to matter. Try: Thalapakatti biryani.
This is a good-looking modern Mexican room with a welcoming bar-and-dining atmosphere, patio seating, and notably friendly servers. The food ranges from genuinely excellent fajitas, street corn, salsa, and guacamole to bland or overcooked takeout, so discerning diners should favor dining in. Try: Chicken fajitas.
This is a bright, casual counter-service spot built around fruit-and-grain bowls, smoothies, and quick pickup. Fresh ingredients and generous portions win plenty of repeat customers, but watery or melted bowls, uneven hospitality, and pricing complaints keep it from being foolproof. Try: Acai bowls.
Taverna Rustic Italian pairs a stylish, spacious dining room with warm table service and a lively bar atmosphere. The best meals feature house-made pasta, hearty classics, and memorable bread, but execution can swing from terrific to genuinely disappointing. Try: chicken parm.
